IN A BURST OF LIGHTWhilst travelling in an omnibus I spied a brilliant cumulus. It's fire lit the evening sky the night they bombed Baghdad. A loud tirade. Invade, invade. A high-tech modern-day crusade. Wave the flag. Shock and awe. Stars and stripes forever more. The war is waged with holy might and all proclaim they're in the right, professing God is on their side. All to the same god do subscribe. A show of strength. A grab for wealth. Targeted and bombed by stealth. Geronimo and bombs away. The people didn't have a say. Kill the people, save the oil, spill their blood upon the soil. A war that's run by corporate greed can never satisfy the need. Precision terror raining down upon a small Iraqi town. Little child lies dead and fried. Weeping mother asking why. Freedom and democracy. Just a small atrocity. Co-lateral death, small price to pay. Common people blown away.
